Novelyn Spence Is Miss Oklahoma Elementary America- 6th Grade

"The Miss Elementary America Pageant was created in 2019 as a division of the Miss High School America Pageant Organization. This scholarship pageant is for young ladies in grades Pre-K to 6th grade. The purpose of the program is to introduce girls to the Miss High School America Organization who have an interest in community service and possibly someday competing in the Miss High School America National Pageants. Participants will build confidence, gain friendships from all over the United States, and have the opportunity to compete on a large national stage."

Novelyn Spence is the daughter of Mike and Melanie Spence and is in the 5th grade at the Lawton Academy of Arts and Science. Though she does not reside in Cotton County, her parents own a business in Cotton County and call Walters, OK home.

Novelyn was introduced to pageantry for the first time when she competed for Miss Cotton Country with a friend of the family, Emma Youngblood. While she didn’t place, she decided then and there she wanted to figure out this sport and attacked it with the same drive she shows in all of her other activities. She came back the next year and placed, which only made her hungry for more. Last year, there was no holding her back! She was familiar with the game, she knew what she needed to do and by golly-she did it!! There was simply no denying her the crown, Little Miss Cotton Country.

This is one more multi talented young lady. I cannot list all of her activities, but suffice to say she makes her presence known. She has now won state pageant titles and competed on the national level. She uses her musical abilities to bless those around her. She walks in NYFW. She serves her community with numerous charitable acts and has won the Gold Presidential Volunteer Service Award several times and somehow manages to remain a top student.

Miss Cotton Country - 2018 won "Miss Photogenic" and "Best Smile", 2019 won multiple awards to include "Miss Photogenic" and First Runner Up, 2020 crowned Little Miss Cotton Country in Hollis, OK

America's National Teenager Scholarship Organization (ANTSO) National Miss - 2018 Miss Oklahoma Sweetheart and crowned 2018 ANTSO National Diplomat in Tampa, FL

Royal International Miss (RIM) - 2018 Miss Sooner State Role Model Sweetheart in Chickasha, OK and competed at Nationals in Orlando, FL and scored in Top 15; 2019 Miss Frontier States Role Model in Chickasha, OK and competed again in Orlando, FL

The Miss Elementary America Pageant - 2022 Miss Oklahoma Elementary America 6th Grade

As Beth Pennington, Director of Miss Cotton Country, stated, we don’t know exactly how we were so blessed to get this gem, but are so thankful that Novelyn and her family were in His plan for our small pageant. One day her name will be known far and wide and we will puff out our chest and annoy everyone around as we proudly state “she was ours first”.
