OKLAHOMA CITY – House Democratic Leader Cyndi Munson, D-Oklahoma City, issued the following statement in response to the Oklahoma Supreme Court ordering the Statewide Virtual Charter School Board to terminate its contract with St. Isidore of Seville Catholic Virtual School.

“I am pleased to hear about the Oklahoma Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the constitution. Oklahomans have been clear they want to keep public dollars in public schools. Using taxpayer dollars to fund a religious agenda is not only unconstitutional but goes outside the perimeters of what will actually benefit Oklahoma students and families. I am hopeful this decision sends a clear message to the Republican supermajority, and we can focus on actual solutions for Oklahoma public schools, like adequately paying our teachers, increasing mental health professionals in schools, and provide free lunches for students.”
