Cotton County Sheriff’s Department Gets a Much Needed Upgrade

Cotton County Sheriff’s Department has received a $135,000 Rural Economic Action Plan Grant to upgrade its communication systems. Cotton County Commissioners Milton Honeycutt (Chairman of the Board Dist. 3), John Anderson (Dist. 1), and Kevin Grimes (Dist. 2), applied for the grant, as well as Ron Peel and associates with ASCOG who had a role in helping the department secure their much needed upgrades.

The grant will upgrade the departments communication system that will include the purchase of a new in-car and mobile radios. This will enable the Sheriff’s Department to replace their outdated, and already malfunctioning radios that have been in use for over 20 years.
