The Walters Blue Devil football team went to Dibble last Friday night looking for their first win since the playoff team of 2018. No player on this year’s squad had ever experienced a high school football victory…until that night. And, what a victory it was!
In dramatic fashion the Blue Devils scored on the last play of the game to go ahead of the Demons and spoil the homecoming game 22-20. The final touchdown was a 30 yard pass from quarterback, Karson Coleman to tight end, Jermaine Chasenah waiting in the end zone. The play began with only :09 to go on the clock and on a 4th down play. The night was full of highlights on both offensive and defensive sides of the ball.
Junior, Clay Graham, who played his first game of the season returning from injury led the team in tackles. John Fremin collected a fumble recovery and Jermaine Chasenah recovered two fumbles. Corbin Good also had one interception for the night. Offensive leaders for the game were: Rushing: B.J. Palmer and Clay Graham. Receiving: John Fremin, Jermaine Chasenah, Corbin Good and Jace Morgan.
The Blue Devils open district play this Friday at home against Mangum. Fans are all invited to come out and be loud to support them to victory.
