Funeral Services at First Baptist Church, Walters, OK, Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 2:00 p.m., Rev. Kevin Simpson Officiating with burial in the Walters Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters.

Alice Rhoda (Simms) Simpson was born to Malinda Irene “Pat” (Hayes) and Clarence Clifford “Boob” Simms on December 20, 1959 in Clinton, OK and departed this life in Walters, OK on August 15, 2021 at the age of 61 years, 7 months and 26 days.

Alice grew up in Eastern Oklahoma in the Cartwright, Colbert and Calera area. She moved to Walters around 1980 and went to work at the Haggar Factory. She married Kent Allen Simpson on May 13, 1983 at Wichita Falls, TX and they raised five sons at Walters. Through the years Alice worked at Haggars, Walters Bank and Trust, and did tax prep through H&R Block and Jackson Hewitt. She then went to work for Comanche Red River Casino and later the City of Walters. She had also served as a reserve officer and dispatcher for the Cotton County Sheriff’s Department.

Alice had been a member of First Baptist Church, Walters for several years and then attended Brown Baptist Church when her health allowed. She loved spending time with her family and especially the grandkids. She enjoyed cooking for the family and loved going to the lake while the kids were growing up. She also enjoyed listening to music and taking drives after school with Josh.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Boob and Pat Simms, and her inlaws, Kenneth and Loretta Simpson.

Survivors include her husband, Kent, of the home; 5 sons and spouses, Shannon and Erin Simpson of Holliday, TX, Travis Simpson of Walters, OK, Kesto and Ashli Simpson of Walters, Cody and Jami of Walters, and Joshua Simpson of the home; 4 brothers, Jack of California, Terry and Ron both of Hereford, TX and Roy of Walters; 3 sisters, Shirley of Florida, Brenda and Dieta both of Tulsa, OK; 8 grandchildren all Simpsons, Gage, Kylie, Kru, Kanyon, Keston, Charlee, Kaison and Kollyns; many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
