Hop Pearson and Dr. H. A. Calvert won the trophies in the unofficial Southwestern Skeet championship at the Walters club on the Fourth of July. Pearson shot 46 out of 50 in Class A. Dr. Calvert took Class B honors with a 31 out of 50...

Mrs. Zorah Daugherty, Walters woman, winner of the women’s flight in the Cordell invitation tournament recently, was the only woman golfer entered in the second annual Fourth of July invitation golf tournament here Tuesday afternoon. She matched strokes with seven men in the Class B flight and placed second with a score of 83, one stroke behind R. R. Childers.

Miss Kathleen Flanagan became the bride of Larry Paul Clark, of Taloga, Okla., in a nuptial ceremony solemnized at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 20, in St. Patrick’s Catholic church in Walters. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Funston Flanagan, of Walters. The groom is the son of Mrs. Jessie Clark, of Taloga, and Mr. Homer J. Clark, of Phoenix, Ariz...Don Dage was installed as president of Walters Rotary club at a Thursday evening dinner meeting, which included the Rotary Anns. Dage succeeds Hugh Fitzsimons, who automatically becomes vice-president.

Julie Von Zachary and Jerry Dwayne Stowers exchanged wedding vows Friday morniong, May 18 in the First United Methodist church. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lindel Zachary, of Walters. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. K. B. Stowers, of Sentinel...Donald and Winnie Thompson were honored on their 50th Wedding anniversary at a garden party champagne brunch hosted by their children, Charles and Anita, and held at the home of Charles, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on June 2. Many family and friends were in attendance, including their grandchildren, Gregory, Elizabeth, Marlin, Lesa and Lesley Thompson, children of Charles, and John, Anna, Sarah, Sally and Mary Bateman, children of Anita.
