OSU Extension Specialists Available To Discuss Food Spoilage And Livestock Threats After Tornadoes

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State University Extension specialists are available this week for in-person and Zoom interviews on the following topics related to tornado recovery efforts.

Food safety and water quality – answering questions about tap water safety and food spoilage after flooding and extended power outages.

Christi Evans, OSU Extension assistant specialist in nutritional sciences Hardware disease in cattle and other livestock – answering questions about the threat of hardware disease (when livestock ingest metal and other storm debris while grazing in fields and pastures). These specialists can discuss how to prevent it, how to recognize the often fatal condition and how to treat it.
