Walters, OK
Funeral services will be held at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel in Walters, OK, on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Edward Eschiti officiating, with burial in the Walters Cemetery. Viewing will be at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters on Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Bobby Lee “Beau” Coombs was born to Melvin J. Coombs and Illa Mae (Long) Coombs on January 19, 1950, in Walters, OK, and departed this life on October 5, 2025, in Temple, OK, at the age of 75 years, 8 months, and 17 days.
Beau grew up in Walters and on the Barbe farm west of town on West Cache Creek. After graduating with the WHS Class of 1968, he joined the ROTC program at Cameron College. He married Linda Diane Jones in 1974 in Oklahoma City, and to this union two sons were born.
Through the years, he farmed, harvested, butchered at Coombs Meat Company, and worked in roofing with Bivins Roofing and Stapp Roofing. He loved joking around, creek fishing, OU football, and playing dominoes and horseshoes. He also loved music, playing drums, and singing in a band with friends like Scooter Bivins and others.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Coombs and Illa Mae (Long) Barbe.
Survivors include his sons, Jeremy Coombs and Glori of Walters, and Jason Coombs and Maria of Duncan; his brothers, Jimmy Coombs and Shay of Walters, and Jay Barbe and daughter Jayden of Walters; and a grandson, Jordan Coombs; along with many other family members and friends.
