Funeral Service at First Baptist Church, Walters, Monday, October 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., Rev. Kent Simpson officiating with interment in the Walters Cemetery. Visitation at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home, Walters, Sunday, October 4 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Russell Gordon Doake was born to Archie Gordon and Juanita Faye (Brown) Doake on September 27, 1958, in Fort Cobb, OK and departed this life in Duncan, OK on September 29, 2026, at the age of 68 years and 2 days.

Coming from Walters at age 9, Russell grew up in Lawton, graduating from Lawton High in 1977. Through high school he worked with his dad at Dupler Plumbing. He then worked for Brown and Root, helping build Goodyear. He then worked in Wyoming and Colorado, building pipeline then returned to Lawton working for Gordon Plumbing. He eventually hired on with Goodyear, retiring with 30 plus years in 2023.

Russell did fireworks with his sister and dad for the past 25 years at multiple locations. He was community minded, helping several area communities and charities. He enjoyed camping, going to the lake, water skiing, hunting, 4-wheeling, riding side-by-sides. He was a selfless, giving person, willing to help anyone.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant twin brothers; Archie Gordon Jr. and George Washington Doake, sisters; Darlene Head and Debbie Bridges, brothers-in-law; Bill Johnson and Randy Bridges, and stepdaughter; Selena Lawler.

He is survived by his sisters; Carolyn Johnson of Walters, Kim and Dale Renfro of Duncan, Gina and Tommy Nichols of Comanche, his girls; Hollie Dunn and Robby of Walters and Cicely Moiser and Matt of Walters, grandsons; Justin and Myles and granddaughters; Cheyenne, Austyn, and Kennedy, many other family members and friends.
