Walters, Oklahoma – July 30, 2026
The Cotton County Sheriff’s Office has recovered all seven vehicles and trailers stolen during a vehicle theft that occurred at the Love’s Travel Stop near Interstate 44 and State Highway 5 on July 23, 2026.
On Tuesday, July 28, deputies recovered six of the seven stolen vehicles and trailers:
- 2019 Nissan Versa
- 2015 GMC Sierra 2500 pickup
- 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup
- 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle
- Car hauler trailer
- Car dolly
On Thursday, July 30, deputies recovered the seventh and final outstanding vehicle—a 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle—during the course of the ongoing investigation.
The motorcycle was located at a residence in Temple after deputies developed information during the investigation. Deputies confirmed the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), identifying it as the motorcycle stolen from the Love’s Travel Stop on July 23.
In a separate investigation, on Wednesday, July 29, deputies responded to a burned vehicle on County Road 2700, north of County Road 1810. Through investigative efforts, the vehicle was identified as a 2013 Ford Expedition that had been reported stolen from Stephens County. Although the vehicle had been destroyed by fire, deputies were able to confirm its identity through the remaining Vehicle Identification Number. At this time, deputies have not established a connection between the Ford Expedition theft and the Love’s Travel Stop investigation.
Sheriff Tim King commended the work of the deputies and the cooperation between partnering agencies.
“Recovering every vehicle and trailer stolen from the Love’s incident in just one week is a significant accomplishment. Our deputies have worked tirelessly, following every lead and coordinating with our law enforcement partners to return stolen property to its rightful owners. While we’re pleased to have recovered all of the stolen property from the Love’s theft, both investigations remain active, and we will continue pursuing every lead to hold those responsible accountable.”
