The Walters Senior Citizens Center hosted its first annual Mother’s Day Tea on Saturday, May 9, welcoming more than 40 guests for an afternoon of fellowship, refreshments, and celebration.
Held at the center in Walters, the event served as both a community gathering and a fundraiser to support the Center’s ongoing programs and services.
Guests enjoyed an elegant tea menu featuring appetizers, finger sandwiches, cheese and grapes, cakes, truffles, mints, and four different varieties of tea.
A highlight of the afternoon was a special door prize drawing for a beautiful floral arrangement in shades of pink. The arrangement was awarded to Bobbi Mechelle Shortt.
Organizers said they were pleased with the strong attendance and positive response from the community.
The tea was designed to honor mothers, grandmothers, family, and friends while also bringing people together in a warm and welcoming setting.
“We were very encouraged by the turnout and support,” representatives from the center said. “It was wonderful to see so many people enjoying the afternoon together, and we hope this will become an annual fundraiser for the Walters Senior Citizens Center.”
The Walters Senior Citizens Center thanked everyone who attended, volunteered, and supported the event, helping make the first Mother’s Day Tea a successful and memorable occasion.
