A Graveside Service will be held at Chaui Cemetery, Pawnee, OK on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home, Walters, OK. Viewing on Tuesday from 1-8pm and on Wednesday beginning at 9 a.m. with a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel.

Donald Paul Goodeagle was born September 18, 1936 in Pawnee, OK and departed this life in Walters, OK on April 20, 2026 at the age of 89 years, 7 months and 2 days.

Don grew up at Pawnee. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force as an Air Traffic Control Operator. He married and to the union 5 kids were born. Upon his discharge from the Air Force, he began working as a driller in the oilfields of Oklahoma and Texas. He married Helen Poemoceah Richmond, gaining 5 children and then added a son from their union. The family moved to Walters in the mid 1970’s and he eventually got on with Goodyear where he worked until his retirement in 1997. He was a fan of the OSU Cowboys and the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed playing cards.

Don was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Goodeagle; his parents, Kenneth Paul Goodeagle and Lanora (Jake) Goodeagle; 4 brothers and sisters, Merton Kenneth Goodeagle, Ron Charles Goodeagle, Judy Goodeagle and Linda Sue “Susie” Goodeagle; 5 children, Baron Richmond, Gerald Shawn Richmond, Ronnie Dee Goodeagle, Terry Lynn Goodeagle and Thomas Don Goodeagle; 2 grandsons, Chad Toehay and Oliver Poemoceah.

He is survived by 6 children, Kenneth Paul Goodeagle of Lawton, Candace Renee Goodeagle Toehay of Anadarko, Richard Poemoceah of Lawton, DeAnna Deutschendorf and Dean of Temple, Aaron Richmond and Terri of Chickasha, Johnny Goodeagle and Michelle of Walters; 22 grandkids and numerous great grandkids.
