Free Health Screening Clinic Scheduled April 2 at Walters Senior Citizens Center

WALTERS, OK — The Senior Citizens Center will host a free blood pressure and blood sugar screening clinic on Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Center, located at 111 E. Colorado in Walters.

The clinic is open to adults age 55 and older and will provide screenings at no cost to participants. Screenings will be conducted by the professional staff of Sunshine HomeCare.

Organizers emphasize the importance of routine blood pressure and blood sugar checks, particularly for older adults. High blood pressure and elevated blood sugar levels are often referred to as “silent” conditions because they may not present noticeable symptoms until serious complications develop.

Left unmanaged, these conditions can contribute to heart disease, stroke, and diabetes-related health issues. Early detection allows individuals to seek appropriate medical guidance and make lifestyle adjustments to reduce health risks.

Community members who wish to participate are asked to RSVP by calling the Senior Citizens Center at 580-875-5002 no later than Monday, March 30, 2026, to ensure adequate staffing and supplies.

The event is part of the Center’s ongoing efforts to promote wellness and preventive health services for area seniors.
