In January 2026, the Comanche Nation Fire Department is honored to recognize Jermaine Chasenah, a Walters High School graduate and a proud citizen of the Comanche Nation, whose dedication to service and community truly embodies what it means to be a firefighter.
Jermaine represents a powerful second-generation legacy of service, proudly following in the footsteps of his father. Growing up with the fire service as part of his life, Jermaine learned early the values of hard work, selflessness, and commitment to others—values that continue to guide him today.
During his time at Walters High School, Jermaine was a well-rounded and driven student-athlete, participating in football, basketball, and baseball. Through these sports, he developed discipline, teamwork, leadership, and resilience—qualities that translate seamlessly into the fire service and emergency response.
After graduation, Jermaine pursued his calling by attending the OSU-OKC Fire Academy, where he trained relentlessly to turn his dream into reality. His determination and work ethic carried him forward, and today he proudly serves his community as a Walters Volunteer Firefighter, working side by side with his father and continuing a family tradition rooted in service and sacrifice.
Jermaine’s commitment, humility, and passion for helping others make him an outstanding example of the next generation of firefighters. He represents not only the future of the fire service, but also the strength, pride, and resilience of our community.
Thank you, Jermaine, for your service, dedication, and unwavering commitment to protecting others. We are incredibly proud of you. Congratulations from Cotton County!
