2025 Christmas Home Tour Plans Finalized

The Dahlia Garden Club Annual Christmas Home Tour is going to be one of the highlights of the holiday season for getting you in the Christmas spirit. The tour will be Saturday, December 7th at 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm and begin at the Historic Walters Depot. While at the Depot, tourists will turn in their ticket or purchase a ticket and will receive a map of the homes and businesses on the tour. Patrons will also be getting their hand stamped that will allow you to enter the homes. The Garden Club will also be serving refreshments at the Depot and the Art Council will be displaying their art work.

“We are so excited this year,” says Patricia Watkins, Co-Chairman of this year’s Christmas Home Tour, “we have six beautifully decorated homes for everyone to see. Four of the homes of John & Amy Winfree, Carl & Kensie Winfree, Jeff & Sandra Keesee, and Choice & Carla Thomas, will all be in Walters. The other two homes of David & Debbie Gammill and Zach & Kacie Abney, will be located about twelve miles west of Walters and then a few miles back south and we want everyone to be aware that they will be traveling to these two homes on country roads. Even though the Home Tour will be 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm, these two homes in the country have agreed to keep receiving visitors until 6:00 pm. The Gammill home will also have their yard decorated with lots of Christmas decorations and lights and they have also put a Christmas tree inside their greenhouse. This will surely get you in the holiday spirit. And if you are wanting to see something a little different, then you will want to see the Abney home. It is a specially built, two story round house called a Yurt house. This will definitely be a home you need to see.”

“There are three businesses on the tour this year,” says Patricia, “one is the Cotton County Courthouse where they will have all three floors cheerfully decorated, Kayla Kohout, who has her Art Studio on Broadway, will be open for everyone to see her art work, and the Walters First Baptist Church will be elegantly decorated for all to see.

“This is the biggest fund raiser of the year for the Dahlia Garden Club,” says Lucinda Simmons, Co-Chairman, “the money from ticket sales will help our club to assist in the beautification of our city parks, poster contests for our local kids, deliver baskets to the shut-ins on Valentine’s Day, and so much more. We invite everyone to come out and see these beautifully decorated homes and businesses, and support our club.”

Advance tickets are $10.00 each or $12.00 on the day of the tour. You can purchase tickets from Cotton Bloom Florist, D’s Tease & Taper, Legacy Insurance, The Cotton County Democrat, or any Garden Club member.
