Bob Perkins, Jr., 80, Eureka Springs, AR

Bob Perkins, Jr. was born in Frederick, Oklahoma on July 24, 1945, to Robert Perkins, Sr. and Tressie (Hicks) Perkins and passed away in Eureka Springs, Arkansas on October 30, 2025, at the age of 80 years, 3 months and 6 days.

Bob attended Frederick schools, graduating from Frederick High in 1963 and Cameron University in 1968 with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. After graduation he worked for Sun Oil Company and Gulf Oil. In 1988 he began employment with Glatfelter Pulpwood Company of Springhill, Louisiana. Bob retired in 2015 as Director of Southern Operations.

Bob was a Christian who served in many areas in his local church as well as a member of The Gideons International. He served as local camp president (5 years each) in the camp between the Glatfelter Pulpwood areas of Arkansas and was elected to every position on the Gideon State Cabinet. His most recent selection was as an area director of Arkansas in 2016.

Bob was an avid genealogist, having spent many years researching and writing about his ancestors and from that, a strong sense of SOONER— BORN and SOONER— BRED was instilled in his children and grandchildren. He was especially proud of the fact that all of his children and grandchildren were born while he was calling the HOGS!

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Lee Jenkins, Jr.; his daughter Lori Perkins of Fort Worth, TX; and his son David and wife Michelle Perkins of Rogers, AR; grandchildren Alyssa, Benjamin and Carter Perkins. He is also survived by his brother Jerry Perkins of Frederick, OK; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Tressie Perkins, and brother, Bill Perkins.

In 1988 he married Barbara D. Dunne (Shelton) and they celebrated 37 years together.

He was a faithful member of the Eureka Springs Bible Church and is remembered by all who knew him for his faithfulness and his service to others.

Burial will be in the Glencoe Cemetery in Arcadia, Oklahoma.
