The Walters Police Department recently received a letter of thanks from the Lawton Police Department for our assistance during the tragic shooting that occurred at Walmart on August 20th.
We want to take a moment to recognize Assistant Chief Bryan Janz, who arrived on scene to assist while off duty during this frightening event. His quick thinking, calm under pressure, and dedication to protecting others reflect the very best of what it means to wear the badge.
Assistant Chief Janz’s actions serve as a reminder that law entorcement oncers never tuly stop serving—whether they are on duty or off. We are proud to have him representing Walters PD and our community.
Our thoughts remain with all those impacted by this senseless act of violence, and we are grateful for the strong partnerships between departments that ensure communities stand together in difficult times.
