City of Walters – Parks & Recreation Department Announcement:
The City of Walters Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to announce exciting new plans to enhance the Train Depot area on the west side of Walters. Two new projects are set to bring joy to both families and pet owners alike:
• Dog Park – A designated, safe space for pets and their owners to enjoy.
• Train-Themed Playground, specially designed for children ages 2-6, offering a safe and imaginative play environment.
City Manager Matt LaFee shared:
“I am so thrilled to make this announcement. This is such a wonderful project for the parents and pet lovers in our community! I’m so grateful the Lord brought me to Walters to help improve the quality of life for our residents. It’s projects like this that make me love working here and being a part of this community.”
The dog park is scheduled for completion by mid-October, while installation of the train playground equipment is expected to be finished by mid-winter.
These additions represent the City’s ongoing commitment to improving quality of life and creating spaces that bring the community together.
