Kiowa Casino 17th Annual Hometown Heroes

On August 7, 2025, the Kiowa Casino & Hotel hosted its 17th Annual Hometown Heroes event, and we are beyond grateful for their unwavering commitment to our community! This year, they presented a record-breaking $112,577.75 to 20 local agencies, including the Salvation Army of Wichita Falls, Wilbarger Humane Society, and several police and fire departments. These funds will make a tremendous impact, supporting these organizations who keep our communities safe and strong.

For 17 years, the Hometown Heroes program has been a cornerstone of the Kiowa in the Community initiative, raising over $600,000 since its inception in 2008 to honor and support local first responders and nonprofits. This incredible milestone reflects the generosity of Kiowa Casino’s guests and the Kiowa Tribe’s dedication to giving back.

The Walters Volunteer Fire Department, on behalf of our entire community, would like to express our gratitude to the The Kiowa Tribe and Kiowa Casino & Hotel for your continued support and for celebrating the everyday heroes who make a difference in Southwest Oklahoma and North Texas. We are truly blessed to be a part of this event and your generosity inspires us all!
