City Manager Matt LaFee To Stick Around For Another Year!

The Walters City Council voted on Tuesday, June 3, to renew City Manager Matt LaFee’s contract for another 12 months, expressing their satisfaction with his leadership and the progress made in the city over the past year. The council was pleased with the improvements to the city and the direction LaFee has been guiding the community.

Mr. LaFee, who was thrilled to accept the new terms of his contract, shared his gratitude for the opportunity. “I have felt truly blessed to be here in Walters, and I’m thankful that the Lord has guided me and helped me contribute to the city’s growth,” he said. “I’m also deeply appreciative of Mayor Morgan and the entire City Council for their continued support and for making me feel valued in my role.”

LaFee also acknowledged the hard work of Walters’ city staff, calling them the “backbone of the city” and expressing his gratitude for their dedication to making Walters a safer, cleaner, and better place to live.

Reflecting on the past year, LaFee noted that while significant progress has been made, it’s only the beginning. “We’ve accomplished a lot in the last 12 months, but the best is yet to come. I have big plans for Walters, and I’m excited to show the community what’s possible with the Lord’s help,” he added.

The Walters City Council and the community look forward to the continued improvements and development under LaFee’s leadership.
