Today, we had the pleasure of hosting Congressman Tom Cole for lunch and a meeting here at City Hall.
We’re thrilled to share that the Community Funding Grant submitted by the City of Walters — for $4.3 million toward our Substation Rebuild and Capacity Enhancement Project — was selected as one of only 15 projects by Congressman Cole’s office to be included in the funding bill headed to the House floor in Washington! This project is vital to strengthening our electric infrastructure, supporting current demands, and preparing for future growth. We are incredibly grateful for this opportunity and support!
In addition, Congressman Cole took time to discuss the recent historic flooding that impacted our area. He met with Mayor Jonathan Morgan and District 1 County Commissioner John Anderson to survey the flood zones and assess the damage to county property firsthand.
We deeply appreciate Congressman Cole’s continued support, his genuine concern for our community, and his commitment to helping us secure funding for critical infrastructure improvements.
Thank you, Congressman Tom Cole!
