The Walters Public Educational Foundation recently announced the selection of ten scholarship recipients from Walters High School totaling $19,000 in scholarship awards.
Kayla Meason was awarded the J.E. and Peggy Mason Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $8,000. The J.E. and Peggy Mason Memorial Scholarship is awarded at the rate of $1,000 per semester for four years.
The Cecelia and Paul Mershon Scholarship of $2,000 was awarded to Nancy Gee. The A.B. and Helen Thurman Scholarship of $2,000 was awarded to Jamie Harris. WPEF scholarships in the amount of $1,000 were awarded to Lily Nease, Annelise Dyke, Lance Martin, Nathan Thurman, Scotlyn Ford, Devyn Edmonds and Camden LaPierre.
The Walters Public Education Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that provides educational scholarships for WHS graduates as well as annual classroom grants to Walters educators. Since 1984, over $850,000 in scholarships and grants have been awarded.
