Several members of the Walters Volunteer Fire Department hid all the 7,000 candy-filled eggs along with the special prize eggs on Saturday morning at Sultan Park. The weather was a little chilly and overcast. Parents and grandparents alike were there to watch the children hunt for Easter eggs. Children of all ages enjoyed seeing the Easter Bunny and several had their pictures taken.
Winners of the Easter Baskets were as follows:
0–2 Yr. Old — Case Kriz
3–4 Yr. Old — Shyla White
Kindergarten — Corbin Tyler
1st Grade — Canan Smith
2nd & 3rd Grader — Kayla LaFee
4th & 5th Grader — Emma King
Winners of the $5.00 bills were Oliver Freeman, Champion Price, Gabriel Green, Aubrey Copp, Anna Newton, and Bobbi Shortt.
The firemen always do such an outstanding job of marking all the areas for each age group and blocking off the roads so that your children are protected. So if you see a fireman this week, thank him for giving their time for the Easter Egg Hunt. Be sure and thank the Chamber of Commerce and the City of Walters for furnishing all the eggs and prizes.
