Billie Charles Hudgins passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025, at the home of her daughter—a woman of grace and dedication.
Billie was a long-time resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she made her mark as a devoted member of the Las Amapolas Garden Club for 63 years.
Originally from Walters, Oklahoma, Billie attended Apeatone High School. She began her career at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas, before making Albuquerque her permanent home. She furthered her education at the University of Albuquerque and became deeply involved in her community.
Billie was preceded in death by her husbands, Earl Ray Peery and David Warren Slade, and her beloved sons, Sean Conrad Slade and Scott Christopher Slade.
She is survived by her husband, Benjamin Robert Hudgins, Jr.; her daughter, Kaye Lynn Peery; three granddaughters, Sierra Cheyenne Slade, Savannah Caitlyn Slade, and Makayla Marie Wood; and one great-granddaughter, Aspen Victoria Grine.
A private celebration of life will be held for family and friends at a later date.
