Gary Michael Copass, 51 Geronimo, OK

Gary Michael Copass, age 51, of Geronimo, OK, passed peacefully into the presence of his Savior on December 17, 2024. Gary was born to Gary Dean Copass and Glenda Kay (Hutto) Copass on August 20, 1973, at Luke Air Force Base in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Funeral services will be held at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home, Walters, OK, on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Tony Elkins officiating and burial in the Walters Cemetery.

Gary grew up in Lawton, Geronimo, and Walters, OK, graduating from Walters High School in 1992. He excelled in carpentry and deeply appreciated his teacher, Gary Thurman. Gary enjoyed fishing, camping, and barn building with his dad. He had a natural knack for tools and loved creating things. A collector of miniature cars, he could share extensive knowledge about every make and model. He also enjoyed riding three-wheelers and motorcycles. Gary was formerly employed by Apache Casino in Lawton before becoming disabled. A member of New Salem Baptist Church, Gary was a quiet and gentle soul around those he loved and will be dearly missed.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Maxine and Joe Wesson, Orville Hutto, Jean and Dean Copass, and his father, Gary Copass.

Gary is survived by his son, Christian and Caitlyn Mabry, and daughter, Victoria Thacker, all of Charleston, AR; his three granddaughters, Delilah, Sophiah, and Marleyah, also of Charleston, AR; his mother, Glenda Copass of Geronimo; his stepmother, Mitzi Copass of Walters; his three sisters, Katie Copass of Lawton, Tina Nienajadlo of Geronimo, and Helen and husband Rusty Lewis of Pine Ridge, AR; his brother, Jason and wife Kate Copass of Tulsa; along with many loved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.

Special thanks are extended to his caregivers: Uncle Leon Hutto, Aunt Becky Youmans, cousin Michael Hutto and wife Shi-Anne Hern, and the staff of Elara Hospice. Your love and care during this difficult time are so appreciated.

Pallbearers are Michael Hutto, Jamie Nienajadlo, Tyler Nienajadlo, Brian Esadooah, Mason Barton, Robert Lansberry, Leon Hutto, and Rusty Lewis.
