The Walters Chamber of Commerce board met on November 12, 2024, at 5:15 p.m. in the Walters Chamber Meeting Room, officiated by Wes Eidson.
Item #1 — Board members present were Joi Bellamy, Wes Eidson, Matt LaFee, Angela Schertle, Stephanie Smallwood, Wendy Zimmerman, and Donna Zwieacker. Board members Benne Brewer, Myiul Morris, Donna Ouellette, and Marla Stapp were absent.
Item #2 — Additional Chamber members and visitors present: None.
Item #3 — Matt LaFee made a motion to approve the October 2024 regular meeting minutes. Angela Schertle seconded. Vote: Ayes: Six, Nays: None, Abstain: One.
Item #4 — After discussion, Wendy Zimmerman moved to table the financials. Matt LaFee seconded. Vote: Ayes: Six, Nays: None, Abstain: One.
Item #5 — The Board discussed the Christmas Parade scheduled for December 7 at 6 p.m., choosing “Silent Night” as the theme and deciding to present the Citizen of the Year Plaque at the parade. Stephanie Smallwood made a motion to approve these decisions, seconded by Angela Schertle. Vote: Ayes: Six, Nays: None, Abstain: One.
Item #6 — Car Cruz Chairperson Wes Eidson provided an update on the event results.
Item #7 — Discussions on the Annual Chamber Banquet included reserving Cotton Electric’s meeting room (to be handled by Joi Bellamy), catering inquiries by Matt LaFee, and securing guest speakers.
Item #8 — Advertising/Economic Development: None presented.
Item #9 — New Business: Joi Bellamy was officially reinstated as Chamber Secretary by Wes Eidson.
Item #10 — Stephanie Smallwood made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Matt LaFee. Vote: Ayes: All, Nays: None, Abstain: One.
