Quinzell Tisdale, 90 Temple, OK

Funeral services for Quinzell Unorce “Mutt” Tisdale will be held at First Baptist Church, Temple, OK, on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Kevin Simpson officiating. Interment will follow at Temple Cemetery in Temple, OK. Viewing will be available on Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Temple.

Quinzell Unorce “Mutt” Tisdale was born to Arthur and Lucile (Lewis) Tisdale on January 5, 1934, in Temple, OK, and passed away in Lawton, OK, on December 3, 2024, at the age of 90 years, 10 months, and 29 days.

Quinzell met and married his beautiful wife, Betty Jo Long, on March 20, 1954, in Walters, OK. They made their home in Temple, where they raised four sons and one daughter: Jack Wayne, Arther Wayne, Larry, Billy Ray, and Brenda.

Quinzell worked for the Oklahoma State Highway Department operating heavy equipment, and in the 1970s, he worked on the Waurika Lake Project, laying blocks for the lift towers. He spent most of his career in construction and carpentry, eventually retiring from carpentry at Fort Sill.

At a very early age, Quinzell gave his life to Christ. He enjoyed working with his hands, especially with wood, and could build anything. He loved teaching others how to do it too. Quinzell also enjoyed fishing, hunting, raising cattle, and playing cards and dominoes. Above all, he loved his family.

Quinzell was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Tisdale, in 2014; his parents, Arthur and Lucile Tisdale; his sister, Jewell Henderson; his brother, Herman Tisdale; two sons, Jack Wayne and Larry; and a grandson, Terrance.

He is survived by two sons, Arthur Wayne Tisdale and Billy Ray Tisdale; his daughter, Brenda Sanchez, all of Temple; 12 grandchildren: Jack Wayne King, Evelyn Robinson, Precious Mayfield, Latarri Tisdale, Tiffany Cochran, Erica Johnson, Quinzell Tisdale, Kendra Tisdale, Phillip Tisdale, Ashante Tisdale, Princess Wheat, and Carolena Lantz; 22 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and many friends. He will be deeply missed.
