Candidate filing for the Board of Education begins Monday, December 2, for three Cotton County school districts. Those wishing to file must submit a Declaration of Candidacy to the Cotton County Election Board on December 2, 3, or 4, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Candidate filing packets are available on the State Election Board website at https://oklahoma.gov/elections/candidates/candidate-filing.html and at the County Election Board.
Candidates must also submit a Voter Registration Verification Form, available from the County Election Board or through the OK Voter Portal at https://oklahoma.gov/elections/ovp.html. The information on the form must match the Declaration of Candidacy.
Shellie Hart, Secretary of the Cotton County Election Board, reminds candidates that Contests of Candidacy must be filed by Friday, December 5, at 5 p.m. and may only be filed by another candidate for the same office. Contests against unopposed candidates can be filed by contacting the County Election Board.
If more than two candidates file for the same seat, a Primary Election will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2025. If one candidate receives more than 50% of the votes, they will be elected. If no candidate receives a majority, the top two candidates will advance to the General Election on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. If only two candidates file, their names will appear on the General Election ballot in April.

Walters School District, Office No. 5
Walters School District, Office No. 2 (unexpired term)
Temple School District, Office No. 5
Big Pasture School District, Office No. 5
