Walters Public Schools Veterans Day Celebration

The students and staff of Walters Public Schools would like to invite our area Veterans, parents, and community to attend a special “Veterans Day Celebration” on Nov. 11 at 9:00 a.m. in the High School Gymnasium.

The program will include Posting of the Colors by The Stephens County Honor Guard, The Pledge of Allegiance by 4-H Officers, and “The Star-Spangled Banner” performed by the WHS Varsity Choir. The Singing Sensations will sing “This Flag We Fly” by Karl Hitzemann, directed by Denise Tulloh. ”Thank You, Soldiers” by Michael and Angela Souders, sung by the WHS Varsity Choir and directed by Charla Dedmon, will finalize the choral presentation. The Blue Devil Pride, directed by Mrs. Michelle Garrison, will play “The Armed Forces Salute”.

The program will include recognition of Veterans, a flag retirement ceremony, and special patriotic speaker WPS Alumnus, CPT Donovan Heintzman.

There will be a reception following in the school cafeteria for Veterans and their families, sponsored by the First Baptist Church.
