Every weekend through early October marks a community celebration of pollinators, with a focus on monarch butterflies. The event highlights growing efforts by private, municipal, state, and tribal entities to sustain the migration of these imperiled iconic insects.

Attention is particularly focused on the fall migration of the eastern monarch, following a difficult year marked by extreme drought and the second-lowest overwintering population recorded in 30 years.
