Jean Fielding, 86 Burkburnett, TX

Funeral services for Betty Jean Fielding will be held at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel in Walters, OK on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Bobby Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Walters Cemetery. Viewing will begin on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m., with visitation that evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Betty Jean Fielding was born to Bernice Elmer and Minnie Elizabeth (Bowen) Jackson in Corum, OK on February 21, 1938, and departed this life in Wichita Falls on August 31, 2024, at the age of 86 years, 6 months, and 10 days.

Jean grew up in Corum and also lived in Duncan and Comanche. She married Earl Gene Fielding on June 27, 1954, and they made their home northeast of Walters. She worked as a waitress in Lawton before the family moved to Oregon in 1972. They returned to the area in 1976, settling in Burkburnett, TX, where Jean and Earl operated Fielding Concrete Construction and Land Leveling from 1976 to 1992.

A member of Lighthouse Church in Burkburnett, Jean enjoyed playing the organ and guitar for church services. She loved reading, sewing, fishing, and going for drives with Earl. Most of all, she cherished time spent with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Fielding; four children, Sheryl Campbell, David Fielding, Renae Davis, and Darron Fielding; a great-granddaughter, Rachel Fulks; her parents; three brothers, Glenn, Floyd, and Vern; and five sisters, Helen, Katie Deloris, Ruby Juree, Katherine, and Arlene.

Survivors include her daughter, Janeen Fielding of Burkburnett, TX; son-in-law, Rex Campbell of Duncan, OK; brother, Buddy Jackson of Sapulpa, OK; 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
