Cindy Trahan, 74, Holliday,TX

Funeral service will be held at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel in Walters, OK, on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, with visitation from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at Hart-Wyatt in Walters.

Cynthia Dianne “Cindy” Trahan was born to Howard and Imogene Bell (Spannagel) Trahan on May 26, 1950, at Fort Sill, OK, and departed this life in Wichita Falls, TX, on August 25, 2024, at the age of 74 years, 2 months, and 30 days.

Cindy grew up in an Army family, living in Germany, Japan, and then in Georgia. She moved to Walters at age 10 and graduated from WHS in 1968. She then went to work at Haggar’s in Temple, staying with the company for 19 years. She married John Earl Meyer on December 24, 1968, in Walters. They made their home in Temple, and to this union, four daughters were born.

In 1988, she moved to the San Diego, CA, area, living in Chula Vista. She returned to Temple in December of 2003, working at the Comanche Star and Red River Casinos until 2015, and then did dispatching for the Walters Fire Department for a couple of years. She has made her home with a daughter in Holliday, TX, for the past five years.

Cindy was a member of the Catholic Church. She loved her grandkids and enjoyed going to everything they were involved in. She also loved cooking big meals and baking for the holidays. She enjoyed going to movies, reading, going on a cruise, and loved her dogs.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Imogene Trahan; three brothers, Von Kevin Trahan, Richard Trahan, and Eulice “Brownie” Trahan; and two sisters, Gina Trahan and Risa Trahan.

Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law: Trisha Meyer Jackson of Wichita Falls, TX; Kari Meyer Medlinger of Holliday, TX; Gina Meyer Rathburn and Dowayne of Lawton, OK; and Amanda Meyer Jerez and Guy of Lawton. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Landon Smith and Amanda, Megan Sorge and Tim, Emily Jackson, Chase Medlinger, Alicia Rathburn, Kacy Rathburn and fiancé Dakota, Seth Jerez, and Alivia Jerez; three great-grandchildren: Kynzi Smith, Laedyn Smith, and Hallie Sorge; two brothers: Dennis Trahan and Mary of Tecumseh, OK, and Howard Trahan and Janet of Walters; a sister, Shawn Graham of Temple, OK; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
