Della Gresham, 82 Walters, OK

Funeral Services at Union Valley Baptist Church, Cookietown, OK, Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 10:00 a.m., Rev. Cecil Boydston officiating with burial in the Walters Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters. Della Fay Gresham was born to Elias Dan “E.D.” and Birdie Blanche (Irvin) Gresham on November 20, 1941 in Walters, OK and departed this life in Temple, OK on February 14, 2024 at the age of 82 years, 2 months and 25 days. Della grew up at Cookietown, attending Union Valley School until transferring to Big Pasture where she graduated in 1959. She moved to town with her mom and sisters in 1996. Della worked as a cook at Howard Johnsons on I-44, farmed with her dad and also with Rick Taylor. She was employed for several years as a custodian for Big Pasture Schools. She last worked at the Nutrition Center in Walters for whom she also delivered meals to the elderly for many years.

Della was a longtime active member of Union Valley Baptist Church, serving through the years as custodian and secretary. She loved going to the coffee shop and donut shop, and enjoyed watching TV and doing puzzle books.

She was preceded in death by her parents, E.D. and Blanche Gresham; and a sister, Delores Gresham.

Survivors include 2 sisters, Norma Steele of Walters and Mary Gresham of Temple; a niece, Kathy Fronimos of Walters; a nephew, Doyle Goss and Karen of Walters; 4 nieces and nephews, Sherry Dumolien and Craig of Lanexa, KS, Jimmy Fronimos and Kristi of Faxon, OK, Ralynn Goss of Walters, Lucas Goss and Jennifer of Walters; 11 great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
