Miss Effie Myers and Dave Boyer were married Friday morning at Wilson. Miss Myers is the daughter of Mrs. L. A. Myers. Mr. Boyer has served in numerous official capacities in the city, county and state governments. At present he is manager of the Cotton County Abstract company which he operates with his son, W. K. Boyer...Penny-Wise Food Store opened at 106 S. Broadway. Clarence W. Rogers is manager. He was in the grocery business here for approximately 10 years prior to 1932...A daughter, Judy Beth, was born to Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Hancock, of Salem, Ill., on Easter Sunday. Mrs. Hancock is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Campbell.

Clint Ponder, high school coach and part-time counselor submitted his resignation to the Walters school board this week. He is completing his fifth year in the Walters system. He has accepted a position with Anadarko high school as athletic director, football and track coach... Marriage licenses were issued to: Billy Gene Stapp,18, of Temple, and Donna Ruth Anglemyer, 17, of Lawton; and John W. Wyatt, 21, of Devol, and Carolyn G. Horton, 21, of Randlett... At the Big Pasture FFA banquet Friday night the Star Chapter Farmer was awarded to chapter president, Lonnie Nolan. The DeKalb award winner was Don Williams...At the Walters FFA banquet Friday night the Star Chaper Farmer and public speaking awards went to Jerry Hancock. DeKalb award winner was Bill Smith. Star Greenhand was a tie between Gary Vardell and Larry White.

Cook, of Rt. 1 Cache; Belinda Sue Russell, daughter of Mrs. Linda Sue Russell and the late Floyd Russell, of Walters; Connie Ann States, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo States, of Hennessey; Cheryl Cooper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Cooper, of Walters; and Kari Lynn Pinson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Pinson, of Rt. 1 Tipton...Teena Ludene Henson, of Walters, and Brian Dale Landers, of Comanche, will exchange wedding vows Saturday afternoon, April 28, in the Church of Christ in Walters. The bride-elect is the daughter of Margie Manuel and the late Lloyd Manuel. The prospective groom is the son of Mrs. Dale Landers, of Comanche.

Jerry Fetters, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Fetters, will receive a bachelor of science degree in petroleum engineering at commencement exercises at the University of Oklahoma Sunday... Gary Colyer was declared first place winner in the Temple FFA Wheat show...Henry JoVan (Pete) Lovelace of Temple will receive the Master of Science degree in agricultural education during summer graduation exercises Saturday at Oklahoma State University. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Lovelace.
